I've noticed that the only issue for which Jill Stein (the Green Presidential candidate) is getting any media coverage in the US this election season is the Hamas/Israel war, given her strident view that Israel is committing genocide. At least 36,017 people have died in the current phase of the long-running conflict between Israelis and Palestinians, since October 7, 2023. Over 95% of the confirmed dead are Palestinians. I suspect the official number of Palestinian deaths is an undercount, and I expect many more to die from the unfolding famine in Gaza (even if they can ( Read more... )

Before I wasn't prioritizing aid to Palestinians in Gaza, because the main constraint wasn't cash, it was the Israeli seige/blockade/bombing/etc. But now major donors have paused in their donations because of accusations against a dozen or so employees of the UN aid organization.
